How the Taser Works
Taser guns work by shooting out two probes that are electronically charged. When they hit the target they give a sharp electrical shock that stuns the person. The effect could last only for half a minute but it can be enough to make a difference to the person being attacked. Stun guns are not meant to kill the attacker. They are there to disorient the attacker to provide time to call for help or escape.
Taser guns are weapons used by some law enforcement personnel. At the present time, there are two main police models, the M26 and X26. Both come with various accessories, including a laser sight and optional mounted digital video camera that can record in low-light situations. The Taser M26C shoots out 2 darts attached to 15 feet of wire. 50,000 volts travel over the wires and over-rides the central nervous system. It can stop a threat up to 15 feet away (4.5 meters), allowing a safe distance to protect yourself and family from an attacker.
