social security identity theft

Our social security number is as precious as our identity itself and must be kept confidential. There has been a rise in social security identity theft wherein one’s social security is used by someone else or even sold over the internet to avail of various benefits supposedly for the authentic social security owner.

It is scary to think that our identity can now be vulnerable to fraud and that we may fall victim to crimes we ourselves have not committed.
