We will need one of these kits at one time or another in our lives. An emergency kit is a box or bag that contains items that are needed in case of an accident or natural disaster. An emergency kit will contain different things, depending on where it will be used. Many think that an emergency kit is something you have to buy from the store. The truth is you can make your own kit. Start with a box or bag and fill it up with things that you think will be useful.
More that composing the right things for an emergency kit, equally important is having a consensus among family members about what to do in case of emergency. Make sure that each member knows where to find the emergency kit. Determine a meeting place outside the home in case of a disaster; determine also the best way to escape from a house struck by disaster. Take the time to practice your escape route. Last but not least, consider the special needs of children, seniors and pets.

Crimes are happening everywhere. Just watch and listen to the evening news. To prevent yourself from being a victim, review your personal safety protocol. Don’t go inside a deserted alley. Don’t walk in darken areas. Always, listen to your gut feeling or intuition. Also, always carry a weapon. Probably the best non lethal weapons are cell phone stun guns.
Cell phone stun guns are great weapons. Actually, stun guns itself are great weapons. The problem with stun guns is it is often stored inside a bag. When an attack happens you don’t have time to reach for it. During a stick up, the attacker will often ask for your wallet, watch and any other valuables. They will allow you to handle these things. That’s why cell phone stun guns work. Your attacker won’t know what hit him.

I’ve always been a big fan of the motto, always be prepared. Because of this I have numerous first aid kits in both my home and cars. I also have survival tools. No one knows when an emergency can happen. It is better to be prepared than sorry.
My favorite survival tools are a knife that can do everything and a 30 inch baton stick. My survival knife has a compass on the top, a couple of match sticks and a fishing hook. It also has a sewing kit. My 30 inch baton stick I use for protection as well as use it as an extension of my arm. I use it to touch stuff that I don’t want my hands to hold.

I’m a part time Physical Education teacher. I teach preschoolers one day a week. I do it not for the money but because I love kids and I want each and every student of mine to love and excel in sports. To reach this goal, I teach balance and coordination as well as climbing and rolling skills. Some of the gear we use in class is a trampoline and a traffic cone.
Working with preschoolers often can get rowdy. You’ll always need a line to do anything. The reason, everybody wants to be first. That’s why I use a traffic cone. The traffic cone will say the line starts here.

Keep a vigilant eye on your baby’s caregiver while you are out of the house or even just out of your child’s room. It is very hard to trust people you really don’t know these days. But some moms have no choice but to hire a nanny if circumstances dictate the need for one. To allay your fears, use a hidden camera to monitor how your nanny is treating your baby while away from you.
Babies are delicate beings who are yet to know how to tell on people who have been hurting them. Give your child a “voice” by installing one or more nanny cams in his room. It is one of the best ways to really check if the nanny is as good as she is when you’re around. Otherwise, if she is mistreating your little one in your absence, you can catch her red handed and take action against her.

I’ve been doing martial arts since the age of five. Today, I teach self defense classes as well as do lecture on personal safety. You don’t have to be a good martial artist to protect yourself during attacks. There are numerous devices that can outdo years of martial arts training. If you choose to go the non lethal way, these are the personal safety products that are effective: tasers, pepper sprays and personal security alarms.
Personal safety products are gadgets that will protect you during an attack. A lot of people are hesitant to use lethal weapons. They are hesitant because most people don’t want to take someone’s life, even a would-be attacker. Or they don’t want the weapon to be taken from them and used against them. That’s why people prefer non lethal weapons.

The weather is whacked. In spite of satellite imagery and weather prediction programs, weather prediction is not an exact science. It rains when it’s not supposed to rain and snow when it’s not supposed to snow. That’s why it’s best to be always prepared. You just don’t know when bad weather will hit you. That’s why I always have an emergency rain poncho.
An emergency rain poncho will can keep you dry when it’s raining. A lot of people ask me, “why not use an umbrella?” My answer is, “can you use an umbrella when it’s raining and you have to change a flat tire?” Sometimes, when it’s raining, you need the use of both hands. The good thing about emergency ponchos is they are cheap, light and don’t take up much space. They are also disposable.

I’m a boy scout thus I’m always prepared. I always prepare for the worse but hope for the best. In my house, I have a couple of first aid kits, extra clothes, emergency lights and emergency food and water. This is part of my personal safety program.
Often I’m accused of being redundant. One time, I went mountain climbing and I had 3 flashlights with me with one set of extra batteries. I started being like this during a camping trip in college where all our lights went out. There were three of us and two flashlights with 2 sets of extra batteries. Both flashlights and batteries were brand new. Now, I always see to it that I have multiple emergency lights in my house, office and car. I also always carry a small emergency light with me all the time. I figured, these days you’ll just never know when you might need it.
