How secure are our homes? Most of us can only afford keys and dead bolt locks. I have seen some pretty fancy homes with hi tech security systems on TV. There seems to be so many ways to lock your homes. In the movies we see palatial homes with computerized security systems. We see plenty of computer screens and cameras. I’ll bet that at least one of their rooms has a biometric lock with deadbolt.
A biometric lock with deadbolt is very secure. You can open it only if the scanner recognizes your thumbprint. After it reads your thumb print you can now open the bolt. It does not open automatically. This is perfect for bedrooms and rooms where valuables are stored.

The fact that sound can be stored digitally has created new applications. In digital telephone voice recorders a caller’s message is converted into a stream of bytes. A microcontroller digitizes the caller’s voice using analog-to-digital converter and stores it in low-power RAM (random-access memory). A 15 second message can translate into 30,000 bytes of digital data. To play the message back, the microcontroller reads the 30,000 bytes from RAM and plays them through a digital-to-analog converter.
One thing to consider when recording phone calls is its legality. Laws vary from country to country and from state to state in the United States. The safest policy is to make sure that the person being recorded is aware that he is being recorded. Another thing to remember is that recording from the phone always involves some loss of quality. Regardless, telephone voice recorders are still useful gadgets whether for office or home use.

Nobody wants to lose important documents and jewelry in a fire. Ensure that this doesn’t happen to you. Buy a fireproof home safe to give yourself peace of mind. A fireproof home safe will not only protect your belongings from fire, but also from intruders and thieves.
When shopping for a fireproof safe, make sure to look for its ability to maintain an internal temperature that is lower than 125 degrees Fahrenheit. This will protect irreplaceable photographs, video tapes, and disks that hold your precious memories. Also, having your own durable safe at home frees you from paying service fees that you would otherwise need to attend to if you keep your belongings in a bank safe.

The taser gun fires two small dart-like electrodes that stay connected to the main unit by conductive wire as they are propelled by small compressed nitrogen charges. The operation is better understood if compared to how a paintball is propelled by a paintball marker. In the taser gun, the air cartridge contains a pair of electrodes and propellant for a single shot and is replaced after each use. There are a number of cartridges designated by range, with the maximum at 35 feet (10.6 m). Cartridges available to non-law enforcement consumers are limited to 15 feet (4.5 m). The electrodes are pointed to penetrate clothing and barbed to prevent removal once in place.
Other electroshock weapons such as stun guns, stun batons, and electroshock belts administer an electric shock by direct contact. The stun baton is a modern version of the stun gun. Like the stun gun, it is designed to administer an electric shock in order to incapacitate the target. It consists of an insulated handle and guard and a rigid shaft usually a foot or more in length that is used to deliver a shock. Stun batons are useful in preventing the police officer from having his weapon grabbed by the assailant.

Quickly immobilize an attacker even before he gets near you. Consider the protection a stun gun can provide. This is a hand held, electrical self-defense device that uses high voltage to stop an assailant. When he is touched with the prongs, he immediately experiences intense pain and loss of muscle control.
The advantage of a stun gun is that it causes no serious or permanent injury. It may have incredible stopping power but it remains non-lethal because the amperage is very low. Stun guns are no longer confined to police departments and security agencies, many individuals are now also carrying these devices to protect themselves against attacks.

The rising crime rates is proof that nobody should assume that their person, home, and community are as safe and secure as we would all like them to be. In the US alone, statistics show that crime happens every 15 seconds. This is enough reason to invest in products personal security. Nobody would want to be at the mercy of a criminal without any means of protection.
Be mindful though of your local laws as certain personal security products may be restricted in your state. For instance, New York residents could only buy defense sprays from licensed firearms dealers or licensed pharmacists. On the other hand, in states such as Michigan, New Jersey, District of Columbia, etc. possession and sales of stunning devices are banned.

Artex is a part of the Cobham Group Company, an international company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced aerospace and defense systems for land, sea, air and space. One of its divisions is Artex Products located in Oregon. Cobham Avionics – Artex Products designs and manufactures a wide array of ELTs for general, business, commercial and military aviation applications as well as battery packs and ELT accessories. An ELT is a battery-powered radio transmitter mounted in a crash-resistant housing in the rear of an aircraft. When triggered by a significant shock, the transmitter begins broadcasting to one or more of a series of orbiting satellites. The satellites automatically alert ground-based search and rescue stations, which dispatch rescue aircraft towards the radiating beacon.
Two Artex ELT models are the C-91 and the C-126. With these ELTs, search and rescue teams are more easily pinpointed to the exact location of a downed aircraft. It is a requirement of the Federal Aviation Regulation that no person may operate a U.S registered aircraft unless an approved automatic type emergency locator is attached to the aircraft. Similar regulations are established by aviation authorities throughout the world. Artex actively provides some of these ELTs.
