Things to Consider when Preparing Emergency Food Supplies
In any emergency, food and water will be high up the list of needs. Of course, getting a person medical attention will come first. But food and water will be needed by victims as well as those taking care of them. It is important that water and food is stored in a proper way. It should be in sufficient quantity to last for a few days.
To prepare the safest and most reliable emergency supply of water, it is recommended to purchase commercially bottled water. Keep bottled water in its original container and do not open it until you need to use it. Choose the right kinds of food to include in your list of emergency food supplies. Avoid foods that will make you thirsty; rather, choose salt-free crackers, whole grain cereals and canned foods with high liquid content. Stock canned foods, dry mixes, and other staples that do not require refrigeration, cooking, water, or special preparation.
