emergency water storage

A person who leads an active lifestyle needs to drink at least two quarts of water every day. If you live in a hot environment, you need to double that amount. Kids, nursing mothers and sick people will need even more. When a disaster strikes, emergency water storage is one of the most important things you have to be prepared for.

Use the following guidelines for your family:

~Provide a means for bulk storage of water for all uses – drinking, cooking and personal hygiene – which should last for at least three to four weeks
~For a family of four, you will need around 500 to 600 gallons of water to last you a month
~For a family of two, 300 gallons would be sufficient
~Multiply the number of family members by 150 gallons and add 30 gallons for each large pet
